COVID 19 Updates and Forms

Due to the ongoing situation regarding Covid-19, Edgewood Bath and Tennis is implementing certain procedures to comply with state regulations and keep our community keeps as safe as possible. These protections can be viewed on this document Covid-19 procedures

2020 Update Regarding Guests:

Only 10 guests allowed per day – reservations required – call desk

  1. A member can only have a guest(s) on 1 weekend day
  2. Adult/Family Guest – Liability Waiver will have to be signed to enter (EDGEWOOD BATH WAIVER OF LIABILITY FORM)
  3. Child Guest – Minor Release form signed by parent (Minor Release Form)

Pool Opening June 20th

 

We are very exciting about opening this weekend. Below is a review of the COVID procedures. The most important thing to remember is IF YOU ARE SICK STAY HOME, for the health and safety of others.
We will be doing our best of keep an accurate count of the number of people on deck, so feel free to call for updates. Remember to keep your fellow members in mind at all times. There are reminders and other information posted on the pool deck and through out the club.
The daily pool hours are 10am to 8:30pm. To be considerate of fellow members there will be no reserving of chairs.
Guest Waivers (click for Liability Waivers for Adults/Children)
Guests:
Only 10 guests allowed per day – reservations required – call desk
           A. A member can only have a guest(s) on 1 weekend day
           B. Adult/Family Guest – Liability Waiver will have to be signed to enter (see above)
           C. Child Guest – Minor Release form signed by parent (available on website)
Entering:
  1. All members will enter through the front door only
  2. Temperature of all entering will be taken with no touch thermometer (no exceptions)
Exiting:
  1. Everyone will exit using the lower parking lot gate (avoid congestion in building)
Locker Rooms:
  1. No changing in cubby area (except diaper changing area)
  2. Change in toilet or shower enclosures
  3. Escort children under 10 to restroom
  4. Masks are optional
  5. Be respectful of distancing
  6. Avoid congestion
  7. Use both soap and hand sanitizer
Gym:
  1. Limit of 3 people
  2. Reservations recommended (contact desk)
  3. NO children allowed (children’s room closed for the season)
  4. 1 hour limit
  5. Must wipe down everything touched
  6. Periodic closures for full sanitation
  7. Please bring your own towel
Snack Bar:
  1. Masks to be worn in line/ 6ft. social distancing
  2. Distance ordering and payment
  3. Payment by cash or card only (Cards on file can be used no Edgewood Account charges)
  4. No more than five people at a table
  5. Tables are spaced properly, please do not move
  6. All kitchen staff will be wearing PPE
  7. Sanitizing will be continual
  8. Please remember your circle of trust
Playground/Sand Volleyball/Basketball Areas:
  1. Use judgment of crowding
  2. Do not congregate at tables
  3. Ping pong paddles will be in bucket with disinfectant by table
  4. Please bring your own equipment
Pool Usage and Area:
  1. 85 people appropriately spaced between circles of trust on pool deck
  2.            A. 6 feet apart when sitting
  3.            B. 15 feet part when laying down (double checking this)
  4. NO masks allowed in pool
  5. Masks optional on pool deck
  6. Lifeguards are not responsible for Social Distancing – Only for Pool Safety
  7. NO reservations needed at this time – may change if needed
  8. Call before coming if concerned about crowding
  9. Continual sanitizing of deck area – your garbage is our bio-hazard
  10. Don’t forget your towel and pool toys
  11. No reserving of chairs
  12. Please be considerate of other members

Pool Expected to Open June 20th:
We are so excited to announce that Governor has given pools permission to open on June 20th.  We are hoping that does not change. There are many articles about pool safety and the coronavirus.  Click this link for CDC and other information:
We will putting our own protocols in place for the health and safety of both members and staff.  Those guidelines will be sent to the membership as soon as we hear from the Connecticut and Torrington Health Districts.  See below for general changes that you can expect.

 

Membership
Given the June 20th opening date we have revised the pricing for the season, see the link below. If you have already paid the full price, your account will be credited for the difference.  We can either send you a check or it can be used for food, guests or lessons. Those members with payment plans will see an adjustment to the last payment. Click the link below for the renewal form:

 

Tennis Programs: 
We will be having tennis lessons and drills for both adults and children this Summer.  All will be limited to 4 participants and 1 professional per court. We are working diligently to re-invent these programs and will have information and scheduling out very shortly.

Camp
We realize that the Governor has moved up the opening of Day Camps to June 22 but we are going to continue with June 29th opening.  At this point all sessions of camp are full. you have already signed your child up for camp by using the form or emailing me directly they have a spot. We will be emailing you to confirm your reservation later this week.  If your plans have changed and you no longer want a particular week let us know as soon as possible.  Cancellation and refund requests will not be accepted after June 5th.  Penalty fees will be assessed for late cancellation.

 

Camp Waiting list:
If you are interested in enrolling your child in camp please let us know and we will put them on a waiting list.

Considering taking temperatures of members as well
Additional staff hired for continual sanitizing
No towels of any kind will be provided
No water coolers will be available
No sports equipment will be provided
Limited number of people allowed in gym at a given time
If there are additional safety measures you would like to see in place in order for you and your family to feel safe, please let us know.

Usage of the tennis and pickle courts is available to our members and their guests ($10). Tennis/Pickle memberships are available.

Tennis/Pickle Procedures:
1. No more than 4 people on a court with the exception if a professional is present, they are the 5th.
2. Recommended that each server uses their own can of balls, in the case of Pickle each server should have their own ball and no hands but those of the server touches them (pick-up with racquet and feet) option to wear gloves
3. Use caution of 6 feet when changing sides or strategy
4. No congregating at the tables (if this happens we will have to remove)
5. Do not use game scoring tower

Pool will not open on Memorial Day

Unfortunately due to the ongoing situation regarding Covid-19 we will not be able to open the pool during Memorial day like usual. We are looking forward to opening the pool as soon as we get the go-ahead from the state. Thank you for being patient as we are all adjusting to the unique challenges brought to us by the virus. We will be sure to update you with news regarding opening as soon as we can on the website as well as the Facebook page.

Edgewood Community Updates 5/19

Membership:
Thank you to all of the members who have already joined or inquired about membership.  We have advised many of you to hold off until we know what is going to happen with the pool.  The tennis and pickle courts are currently available.  If you are not a member you can use the courts for a $10 fee per usage or purchase a tennis membership for $225. These fees can be applied to can be applied to a full membership once we have all of the details for Summer.  Courts should be reserved by calling the club.
Pool: 
 
Unfortunately, the POOL WILL NOT BE OPEN for Memorial Day Weekend!  We are extremely sad about this as I know all of you are as well.  We spoke with the Connecticut Department of Public Health and the Torrington Area Health District last week and we should know something about pools later this week.  Thanks to Holcon Gas the pool will be warm when are given the go ahead to open.
 
Swim Team:  
 
Given the current regulations and an abundance of caution, we will not be offering swim team this Summer.  Our children are our first priority and we want to do all we can to keep them 
safe.  I am not sure what other teams are doing, once I get information from them, I will share it.  We will miss our Torpedoes!

We have just heard from Connecticut Department of Public Health and the Torrington Area Health District.  What they have said is that we can take the cover off and get the pumps running. They are also having us pay our license fee. We are taking this as positive news.  The pool heaters are going to be installed and we will ready once we get the word to open.
 
Membership:
We will be assessing membership costs as time goes along. We will pro-rate as necessary.  Tennis/Pickle memberships are available and can be upgraded once the pool is open.
Camp:
We will have more information about camp after the guidelines are set on May 12th by the State of Connecticut.

Edgewood is a community of families and friends. Within in the community there are many Small Business Owners, just like us.  Our members are plumbers, electricians, restaurant owners and landscapers, just to name a few.  In an effort to support them, we would like to share who you are and what you do with the entire membership. Payments:
Payments for all services with the exception of food is due at the time of purchase (ex. Guests, lessons, etc.) All food slips will require a signature
Invoices will only be sent via email and payments plans must have a credit/debit card on file

Waterslide – Family Fun Nights – Dive-In Movies – Taco Tuesday (and the margaritas) – Splash Night and a few surprises!
For Kids:
Swim Team – Improve your strokes and have fun
Swim Lessons – Private lessons available to all ages and ability
Tennis Lessons – Learn a sport to play for life
Tennis Team – All levels welcome to gain some fun match experience against other clubs
Day Camp:
Enrollment and feedback from last Summer was so great we are doing it again.  Kate Cunningham will be back with action packed weeks that include fitness, science, super heroes and more.  Spaces are filling fast, see the enclosed form.
Pickleball:
It is the hottest sport in the country right now, with courts popping up everywhere.  We are also going to try a challenge ladder for the first time.  Check your email for weekly events.
Adult Tennis:
Point Play – Cardio Tennis – Men’s Drill – 5 USTA Teams – Friday Night Mixed Events
Member/Guest Days – If you are interested in assisting with any of these events let us know.
